After much anticipation, Stardoll have finally released a hairstyles store. It is called 'Tress Up' and is an addition to the store Dorêe. So far there are only 12 hairstyles, but more will definitely be added. These hairstyles are relatively cheap, selling from 80 Starcoins to 15 Stardollars. There are also hair 'accessories', selling from 2-4 Stardollars, however the accessories are only for decoration. These hairstyles act just as the default hairstyles, as they are dyeable and you can place jewelry on them. Here's a quick look at the shop...

There are mixed feelings about this release. Some people are happy about the release, and are willing to pay money for the new styles, but others feel that it is only a money-making scheme to get people to buy more Stardollars.

The wig/hairstyle craze was sparked by the release of Stardesign Jewellery, when some creative Stardolls started creating wigs out of feathers and other materials. Wigs gradually gained momentum and popularity, gaining interest from the Stardoll staff (including Mette.Stardoll). Presumably, Stardoll have received many requests to make a wig shop, and they may even copy some designs from famous Stardoll wig-makers.
